First Peter 5:7 says, "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

We know that the word "care or cares" also encompasses, worries, concerns, stress, anxiety, and even the things in life that tempt us to get into fear. But, have you ever considered doing some "Peace Maintenance?"

"Peace Maintenance" is similar to doing some regularly scheduled maintenance on your car, tractor, or other piece of equipment. The list of things above that stem from that one word, "care" have a tendency to mess with your peace.

As a believer, you need to see the power of transference working between Jesus and you. That means when you cast your care, stress, or anxiety over on Jesus, you get to maintain your peace and He takes your stress and throws it away.

Some translations literally say to fling your whole care over on Him. And the good news is that when you "fling your whole care over on Jesus," you don’t ever have to take that care on again.

That's exactly how you maintain your peace… you release that stress or anxiety to Jesus and He takes it from you. Your emotional load is lightened.

Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30; He said, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Jesus gave you, through His sacrifice on the cross, His "(easy) yoke...and (light) burden." You can’t bear the load, but Jesus can and in fact, already has. That's why you are stressed and He’s not.

The word "care" according to the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance shows us that all these things, "cares, worries, concerns, stress, anxiety, and even fear" are nothing but distractions for the believer. The devil wants you distracted from God and His Word.

In the same way that Jesus on the cross took our sin, and gave us His righteousness; took our sickness, and gave us health, Jesus also paid for all worry and fear, so we could have peace of mind.

Everything we were, through the sin-nature of Adam, Jesus took to the cross. And everything that the Righteous and Holy Son of God was (and still is), He gave to us. He gave us every one of His good qualities (even if for that moment in time), and took our "junk" and nailed it to the cross.

Now we have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

One reason believers still carry their junk and emotional baggage around is because they have not learned to cast it all over on Jesus.

May today be the day that you decide to do some "peace maintenance" and "cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." Jesus takes all your stress and anxiety, so you can remain in peace.

Think about it!
