DEVOTIONAL

Today's featured devotional...
Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
(1 John 4:4)
Can you not feel the urging, prompting, pulling 'n pushing of the Holy Spirit leading you to victory and overcoming whatever is put in your way?
And ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.
(Acts 1:8)
Can you not hear God telling you to be strong and use the power given you from the Holy Ghost during good times and troubling times? Can't you hear Him encouraging you to count it all joy?
And the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
(Eph.6:17)
Can you not hear God saying to you, "Use Me." He has taken us by the hand, giving us such love, providing the blueprint to be overcomers, not just "going throughers." We are victors, not victims!

The trials and tribulations are going to come, just like breathing requires inhaling and exhaling. They are a given, but Jesus told us to be of good cheer for he has overcome the world! (John 16:33)

I have heard enough of  "I'm going through…." Everybody is! I would love to hear instead, “I'm going to . . . the throne of Grace.” Or “I'm going to . . . my prayer closet.” or “I'm going to . . . see Jesus today because I'm going to . . . help somebody who's having challenges, too.” When asked how you are, remember the Shunamite woman in 2 Kings 4:8-17.  “All is well” was her response when asked how things were, even though her son was dead! She did not say, “I’m going through grief and sorrow.” In her spirit, she was saying, “I’m going to…the man of God who can correct this wrong!”

This "I'm going through" is the sort of response others give as if they have an exclusive on "going through." There are people who have been told they are going through the last stages of their lives! That's going through but these same scriptures apply to them, as well.

We must build our spiritual muscles of faith, trust, and belief through a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and through the word of God, prayer, meditation and fellowship with other believers.
