Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.
(Rom. 6:8 NASB)

Paul says here that as certainly as we died with Christ, we believe we will also live with Him. There is a popular phrase that encompasses this great truth. It is "Dead to Sin; Alive unto God." When we listen to God's guiding voice we will live out this reality in our daily choices. To be dead to sin means we are not responding to its influences, not interested in its promises, and not willing to pay its wage in the end.

The Message Bible says: If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in His life-saving resurrection.

It's one thing to die for Jesus, and another to live for Him. To live for Him means to have life in common with Jesus, or to co-survive. It's like having a live-in partner. We are to let Jesus live His life through our vessel of clay each day. In so doing He will be able to use us to reach our world and rescue the dying people around us with His loving hand.

Today's Thought to Take With You:
I am dead to sin and alive to God. I allow Jesus to live His life through me today.
