Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.
(Mal. 3:10)
One thing is very clear. All through God’s Word He wants us healed – physically and financially. God’s plan is prosperity for the believer. In fact, according to Luke 12:32, God the Father takes pleasure in giving the Kingdom to His children. Psalm 35:27 says that God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His saints.

We know that, according to Galatians 3:13, Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law. The curse of the law as described in Deuteronomy 28 is death, sickness & disease, and poverty. Jesus died so that we wouldn’t have to. He carried our sickness & disease and by His stripes we were healed (1 Peter 2:24). The price for our healing has been paid. And according to 2 Corinthians 8:9, “He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”

There is no doubt that eternal life, health, and prosperity is God’s will for every believer.

God put forth a plan for His house on this earth to be blessed. We know that the church building is not the church. Every born again believer is the church and their body is the temple of God. However, the local church is where the body of believers meets and is God’s storehouse.

God’s plan is for each believer to place ten percent (the word tithe means a tenth) of their increase into the storehouse. With every church member being obedient to this, there is sufficient bread in God’s house. The more a Christian prospers, the more they have to give. Ten percent of a million dollars is greater than 10% of nothing.

I love to give into God’s storehouse. Every time I receive financial increase, my first thought is excitement about being able to bring my tithe to God’s house.

Like many churches, our church has “online giving” available to our members. Whenever someone is out of town, or if the weather prevents travel to the church building, many of our church members will use online giving to make sure their tithes and offerings are deposited into the church account.

Several people in our church get on line immediately when they receive an increase and send their tithe because they are so eager and excited to give into God’s Kingdom.

Many years ago in a home Bible study a man wanted to argue that tithing was under the law and that he had been redeemed from the curse. Actually, he was trying to figure out an excuse for not giving. First of all, tithing is not a curse and secondly, it was not instituted by the law. Abraham tithed before Moses ever existed. While some are looking for an excuse so they won’t have to give, God loves cheerful givers who are looking for excuses to give.

Some feel they can’t afford to tithe. They feel they don’t make enough to pay their bills to men and their tithe to God. The one you pay is the one you fear the most.
But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.
(Mal. 4:2)
God is a giver (John 3:16). Satan is a thief (John 10:10). As Christians, we are told to imitate God (Ephesians 5:1).

Is it possible to rob God? Yes, it is. And, according to God, if you don’t tithe, you are not only stealing from Him, but you are stealing food from God’s house. So let me ask you this question and please answer honestly. Are you a tither or are you a thief?
Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, 'In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings.
(Mal. 3:8)
