"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn" (Prov. 29:2).

The writer of proverbs understood the difference in a righteous ruler and a wicked ruler. A righteous ruler will dictate his or her decisions based upon their Godly convictions, whereas a wicked ruler will dictate his or her decisions by the popularity influence of wicked people and selfish motives. We can see this with king Herod in the book of Acts:
And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, [saying, It is] the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
(Act 12:21-23)
Of course we can see that God judged Herod for taking His glory and siding with wickedness and not righteousness.

We all understand that as the leader is, so are the majority of the people.

This has been understood since the time of Pharaoh and Moses. Good against evil. Righteousness against wickedness. Character and integrity against dishonesty and corruptness. Democracy against dictatorship.

We must prize integrity and character above all. It is important that Christians do their duty to vote. We must vote the way the Lord instructs us to vote. It could determine if the United States will have "righteous rule" or "wicked rule." It is our choice.

Chose integrity and character above all.
