Learning how to live free from offense is simply a part of growing up in God and becoming a mature Christian.

By the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of you, you can walk in victory over offenses. How can we be so sure of that? Because we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that First John 4:4 is true: "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

I encourage you to make the decision that from this day forward, you will not miss out on even one of the miracles God has for you because of unforgiveness in your heart.

Walk in the love of God; live in His peace—and become more than a conqueror over the enemy's strategy of offense!

Five Tips to Help Overcome an Offense
  1. Give the person who has caused the offense the benefit of the doubt. He or she may have just been having a bad day.
  2. Remember, hurting people hurt people. There is a good chance that if someone is hurting you, he or she is hurting as well.
  3. Keep in mind that your interpretation of a situation may be different than that of the person who offended you. He or she may not have meant it the way you took it.
  4. Watch what you're continually thinking about. Do your best to keep your mind focused on the Lord at all times. (Isa. 26:3)
  5. Pray about the situation. Cast the care of it over on the Lord; then don't worry about it anymore. (1 Peter 5:7)
