This is not the time to give up. This is not the time to quit. You cannot afford to quit. If you will not give up, nor cave in, nor cast away your confidence, then your payday is at hand.

I remember when I was a youngster in Little League baseball, my coach made the following statement to the team, "Now boys, it's not whether we win or lose, it's how we play the game that counts."

I looked at him and I thought, "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life." It does matter whether we win or lose. And I later learned if you play the game right, you do win. It was only when we didn't play the game right that we lost.

It's the same way in the game of life. If you play the game right, that is by God's rules, then there is no way you can be defeated. You will win every time. Paul said, "Now thanks be unto God which always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus." You won't find anywhere in the Bible where God's attitude is, "I'm just hoping you'll win a few, lose a few, and if you lose, just be a gracious loser."

Psalm 62:5 says, "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him."

God wants you and me living in an attitude of expectancy. You can't always depend on man's words, but God's words never fail.

The Spirit of God said this to me not too long ago, "Faith and expectancy are twin brothers." Faith believes what cannot be seen with the natural eye and expectancy reinforces that belief.

There's no such thing as real Bible faith without expectancy. And yet you hear a lot of Christians say, "Well, we're just trusting God," but there's no expectancy in the tone of their voice. So that's not real Bible faith.

Every time you read the Word, your expectations should get higher and higher. You should expect to get out of debt. You should expect to live in divine health. You should expect God to bless you coming in, going out, in the city, and in the field.

Psalm 62:2 says, "He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved."

I cannot be moved from my expectations. Somebody may say, "You can't expect God to do that." Yes I can. If God said it, then that settles it, and I expect it to happen to me.

"Well, what if it doesn't happen?" I've discovered in the Word of God, when you do what God says, then it's not "what if," it's "when." In other words, it's just a matter of time. The word expect means "to look for, to fix the eyes upon, to reach for." Expectancy means a looking for with pleasure.

Are you truly trusting God? Then you should be expectant. And if you're expectant, then you're looking for the manifestation with pleasure.

Proverbs 23:17-18 says, "Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off." Let me just paraphrase that in plain talk. "You will not be disappointed."

Whether you realize it or not, you are living today in what you expected in the past. You are living today in your expectations of yesterday. Expectations have a way of coming to pass, good or bad, negative or positive.

The Amplified says it this way. "For surely there is a latter end, a future and a reward." Did you catch that? There is a reward. When you refuse to allow people to talk you out of what you expect God to do, then God will reward you.

Hebrews 10:35 says, "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward." The Amplified says, "Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward."

Let me submit to you another phrase that is more commonly used than compensation. Payday! God is saying, there is a payday for those who will not allow their expectations to be cut off or their confidence to be destroyed.

Every two weeks is payday at Jerry Savelle Ministries. And I don't know one employee in this organization who forgets it's payday. They earned it and they expect it.

When God has continually come through for you time and time again, then you can't help but to walk in an attitude of expectancy. You just know that you know that He will not let you down.

If you're faithful, if you refuse to cast away your confidence, then God says you will be rewarded. You will be compensated. You will experience a payday. So don't quit now! You've come too far to quit. Everything you've been hoping for, praying for, and believing for is just on the horizon. Your payday is coming!

Your sowing has not been in vain! All those long nights of praying have not been in vain. All this operating in love has not been in vain. If the devil's waking you up in the middle of the night screaming at you, "No way! Impossible!" that's a good indication that you've got him under pressure, and he knows that the manifestation is just around the corner.

Jeremiah 51:56 says, "Because the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the Lord God of recompences shall surely requite." The word requite means to retaliate or to punish.

Notice He's not only the God of recompense to the righteous, but He's also the God of recompense to the evil or the wicked. In other words, the wicked will be rewarded and the faithful shall be rewarded, but their rewards are different. Here it's talking about the enemies of the people of God, and God says, "I am the God of recompense, and I will requite." In other words, "I will retaliate, and I will punish the enemies of My people." Our enemy isn't people, but Satan.

The Spirit of God said to me, "Payday is coming to the righteous, and pay back to their adversary." In other words, God's going to make Satan wish he had never attacked you. You're going to be rewarded for your faithfulness. No, I'm not talking about when we get to heaven. I'm talking about down here on planet earth.

Psalm 37:4, 9 says, "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth."

Notice, the evil are cut off; the righteous inherit the earth. One gets a payday; one gets a pay back. In other words, this enemy of yours that has harassed you, tormented you, stressed you out, and kept you under pressure is going to get what he deserves.

God is saying it's just a matter of time. This is not the time to give up. This is not the time to quit. You cannot afford to quit. If you will not give up, nor cave in, nor cast away your confidence, then your payday is at hand.

How would you act if payday came this morning? How would you act if you knew that every seed you've ever sown was about to produce a hundredfold? You'd be shouting and praising God. So, do it! God has been keeping the books, and payday is coming!

Quit focusing on what's not happening; focus on what is about to happen. God is about to reward your faithfulness. Payday is coming to your house!

Dr. Jerry Savelle was an average, blue-collar man who was struggling and needed God's help. While he considered himself a "nobody," when he became a believer God told him not to worry about it because He was a master at making champions out of nobodies. God has since taken Dr. Savelle from being a constant quitter to a man who knows how to stand on the Word of God until victory is experienced. Because of the life-changing combination of God's faithfulness and Dr. Savelle's "no quit" attitude, his life is totally different than it was thirty-eight years ago.
