There is an old lawyer joke that goes like this:

Question:
"How do you tell if a lawyer is lying?"
Answer:
"His lips are moving."

I would like to believe that in most cases this is the exception, not the rule. However, in one case I am absolutely certain the accusing attorney is, was, and always will be the biggest liar on the face of the earth. As a matter of fact, he is the father of lies (see John 8:44), and the truth is not in him (see 1 John 2:4).

The one who stands against you in the courtroom of eternity is the greatest liar of all time. He twists every fact about your life. He embellishes and magnifies every mistake you have ever made. He blows up your sins to the point that even you might be tempted to believe the lies. His aim is to steal your eternal home, kill your reputation, and destroy you before the court.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Eph. 6:12).

Satan, the prosecutor, can say whatever he likes about you to your Father God, but to no avail. You have been washed in the blood of Jesus, and all you need to do is remind him of your salvation and your total commitment to the Lord.

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death" (Rev. 12:11).

Begin to win your case today! First, don't give the prosecutor any ammunition by sinning, and if you do sin, run immediately to 1 John 1:9, be forgiven and cleansed, and get back on track with the Lord. Then, send your prosecutor into a tail spin by telling your salvation testimony to someone and bringing them into the kingdom!
