So many Christians live their lives like a coin tossed into the air. Well, what's it going to be today? Heads, or tails? They often say, "You know how it is, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. You can't always be on the mountain, sometimes you gotta go through the valley." Yeah, you do have to go through the valley to get to the mountain. But you don't have to take up residence in the valley. Don't have your mail sent there!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
(Ps. 23:4)
Did you get that? You're supposed to go through, not stay there and complain about your problems. You might be saying to me right now, "Brother Jerry, you just don't know what I'm facing right now. I lost my job and the devil says I'm going to lose my home." Remember the verse that says, "I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me?" Trust in God; He never loses, and He is not slack concerning His promises.

People tell me they believe in God. Let me tell you something: Satan believes in God, and so do all the fallen angels who are working for him. But we can be saved by the blood of Jesus, and they can't. We can walk in the power of the Word of God. They can't. We can tell the devil to get behind us. They can't. In fact, they will spend all eternity with the devil. Talk about a rotten time!

Many Christians believe they have to live their lives being afflicted by the devil and losing in life. It practically makes me throw up to hear that. Where did Jesus tell us we had to lose sometimes? Show me in the Word. We've been listening to the lies of the devil too long. We only lose when we stop believing Jesus.

If you're one of those who are continually ruining your life by confessing everything but God's Word over yourself, it's time to get yourself a new word. I would suggest God's word. God says we win if we remain faithful.

Everyone would like to have a car that never gets empty but instead makes its own gas. In fact, it would make so much gas that you have to stop and let some out every now and then. Well, the Word of God is like that. It fills you to overflowing, to the point where you have more than you need and you have plenty left over to encourage someone else with.

Do you know that fear is sin? Don't feel bad—sometimes I have to repent of it too. And I don't waste any time doing it! Fear is faith in reverse. Fear is having more faith in what the devil can do to you than in what God can do for you. Fear is telling God, "I'm not sure You can or will come through for me."

Yes, the things the devil does to us are real. He is powerful and not to be underestimated. But he is a created being, just like you and me, and greater is He that is in us than he who is in the world!

Luke 10:19 says, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy; and NOTHING shall by any means hurt you." Do you really believe that? Remember, God is listening to your answer. Be honest with yourself. You aren't fooling God.

That verse only applies to us if we abide in Him and His words abide in us. When we fear, are we abiding in Jesus? I also have to ask myself this when fear rears its ugly head in my face to steal my peace. So it really boils down to this: whom are we believing? God or the devil? With God, it is impossible for Him to lie. With the devil, it is impossible for him to tell the truth.

So when the devil says, "You're going under," you can call him a liar and tell him God said you are going over!

Two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Fear cannot abide where God's Word abides. By the same token, God's Word cannot abide where fear abides. One or the other must go. As for me and my house, I choose the everlasting choice, not the one that passes away.

Psalm 125:1 says, "They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever."

Matthew 24:35 says, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away." If we choose to side with God, we win. Though the devil attacks us, we will not be greatly moved.

Come over here devil, I'm going to flip my coin...heads I win, tails you lose!
