In Ephesians, Paul speaks of our position in Christ by saying "in who we have boldness" (Eph. 3:12).

Proverbs 28:1 tells us, "The righteous are bold as a lion." We need to know that. When we become ambassadors and representatives of Jesus Christ, we need to know that we have not been given a spirit of fear, but that we are bold - as bold as a lion.

Many times when I teach these things in a meeting or seminar, people will say to me, "But Brother Savelle, I can't witness. I can't just walk up to a total stranger and share with him. I'm too afraid."

I always tell them, "What you need to do is start confessing what the Word of God says about you. Every step you take toward that person say to yourself, "God has not given me the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I'm not a coward. I'm the righteousness of God, and the righteous are bold as a lion." By the time you get to that person, you will be bold.

Someone will usually ask, "Yes, but what if it doesn't work?" I always say, "Then start all over again!"

Just keep confessing the Word. You need to know your authority - who you are in Christ. You happen to be a child of God. You are not a loser, you're a winner! You're not a chump, you're a champ. God has not made you timid and fearful - He has made you as bold as a lion!
