Someone once described the game of football as 60,000 people who desperately need exercise watching 22 men who desperately need rest. But the game of football is highly indicative of life itself. Most people watch from the sidelines-few ever really get off the bleachers and get in the game!
 
What is it going to take to see your life turn around, to see your goals achieved and your dreams fulfilled? I believe it can be summed up in one word: drive! Do you have the drive you need to achieve the dreams you dream?
 
Once you develop the drive to get moving on the journey towards your God-given destiny, it will be very hard to stop you. There's no person, no obstacle, no setback, and no distraction that can prevent you from doing what God has put in your heart to do!
 
How do you develop this kind of drive? I just taught a new message called D.R.I.V.E. based on an acronym that describes the choices I made to achieve the dreams I'm living today. I don't have the space to cover each major point in this letter, but I want you to get this new audio teaching and listen to it over and over. It will produce momentum and staying power to achieve your dreams.

How do you get started? The simple answer is: with a decision. Do you want to reach your potential and be successful? Do you want to do great things with your life? YOU will have to take 100% responsibility for everything in your life: your achievements, your relationships, your wealth, your health, your debt, your body, your success. To live a life of purpose, success, and victory; it always begins as a quality decision to not settle!

Zig Ziglar said, "As a young aspiring speaker I heard a motivation speaker say 'You are where you are because that's exactly where you chose to be.' I was broke, in debt, and down in the dumps. It came through loud and clear that I was where I was and what I was because of the choices and decisions I made!"

Your DECISIONS affect your destiny! Are you going to just go with the flow of traffic or go the narrow road that leads to success? Remember: only DEAD FISH go with the FLOW!
 
There are certain emotions that can actually lead to a major life change such as disgust! I know we usually don't equate the word DISGUST with positive action, but being DISGUSTED with your current circumstances can actually serve as VISION and MOMENTUM to get out!

For example, seeing a photo of yourself overweight can cause you to say "I've had it!" Having to put the groceries back because you can't afford them can cause you to say, "Enough is enough!" Your credit card declined at the restaurant in front of your colleagues can cause you to say, "I'm turning my life around!"

Disgust is what you reach when you're tired of being embarrassed, ashamed, humiliated with where you are! Bottom line: in order for things to change for you . . . YOU'VE GOT TO CHANGE!

Jim Rohn's mentor, Earl Shoaf said, "What you have at this moment you have ATTRACTED by the person you've become!" He went on to say, "If you don't have much, perhaps you haven't become much."

Obviously offended, Mr. Rohn held up his paycheck to his mentor and matter-of-factly said, "This is all they pay!" His mentor, Mr. Shoaf, replied, "No, this is all they pay YOU!" In other words, they pay others more. This is what they pay YOU!

This was such a life-changing lesson for Jim Rohn as he began to hear monumental things such as:
•    "Don't wish it was easier, wish you were better."
•    "Don't wish for less problems. Wish for more skills."
•    "Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job."
•    "If you work hard on your job, you'll make a living. If you work hard on yourself, you can make a fortune!"

The Bible says in Luke 12:48 (NKJV), "To whom much is given, from him much will be required." You could read this verse another way, "Much is REQUIRED in order for MUCH to be GIVEN."
 
This leads to the next point I want to share with you today: INVEST. You must make an investment in yourself, your growth, your future. I heard someone say, "If you don't like the SIZE of your MONEY, INCREASE the SIZE of you!"

In order to get started, work on developing your personal library. Statistics show that one-third of high school graduates never READ another book for the REST of their lives. Forty-two percent of college graduates NEVER READ another book after college. I was in that category for years! Eighty percent of U.S. families did not buy or read a book last year.

Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, said,"The person who stops studying merely because they have finished school is forever hopelessly doomed to mediocrity, no matter what their calling."
 
Successful people NEVER STOP acquiring knowledge in their field and related to their purpose. Study to show yourself approved (2 Timothy 2:15).
 
What happened when I went to work on myself by listening to audio teachings, reading books, and attending conferences? My world began to expand. My confidence grew. My dreams were enlarged. My faith grew rapidly. A drive to help others succeed God's way began.

Yes, it takes an investment of resources, time, and energy. In fact, I still seize every moment in my car to grow. I utilize my time getting ready each morning to expand my knowledge. I listen to teachings at the gym while working out.

Think about this: without drive, Bartimaeus would have never persevered when the disciples told him to be quiet and leave Jesus alone (Mark 10). Without drive, Paul would not have returned to minister in the very city that tried to kill him (Acts 14). Without drive, Nehemiah would not have rebuilt the city wall in the face of strong opposition (Nehemiah 3).

I don't want you to settle for an average life, with an average mindset about your average future. God has so much more for you to be and do! It's time to develop the D.R.I.V.E. you need for the dreams you dream.
