Does it seem as if the dream of your heart, your ministry, your business, or the miracle for which you prayed, has died? This is an important word to you, for it is not dead. Instead, you must receive it, for it is His promise to you.

This past weekend, the Lord continued to give me dreams about babies. The most recent dream was very revealing to me, and I pray it is to you also. Let me begin by sharing the dream with you, and then I will expound on what God showed me.

In my dream, I worked in a place where I knew all the babies that were being born. It was similar to a hospital, but not a hospital. People would bring me items from their babies like blankets, stuffed animals, and such. I would smile and rejoice with each happy mom and dad. Babies were being born all around me! It was quite amazing.

Then, one couple came and handed me a blanket. I took it from the mother and looked up at her. She was crying. Her husband said their baby had died, and she was grieving. My heart went out to her. This continued as day after day she would bring me a new item they had prepared for their baby. The first few times she came to me, she was sad and grieving, and my heart ached for her. However, then her demeanor changed. She was no longer grieving in sorrow. Instead, her tears had now turned to anger.

One day she brought an item to me from her baby and literally threw it at me. From that day on, each time she came, she seemed angrier than the time before. The anger began to consume her.

A few days went by and I found myself in a large room where all the newborns were kept, along with their parents. The atmosphere was joyous, for there was new birth all around. Then, someone handed me a baby and said, “The parents refuse to accept this one,” they explained as they transferred the baby into my arms. It seemed so odd.

“Who are the parents?” I inquired.
It was the couple who had informed me that their baby had died! Yet, here their baby was, fully alive in my arms! I was perplexed. Why would they refuse to believe their child was still alive? I learned that others had tried to show the parents their baby was alive, but they refused to believe it. They refused to acknowledge what was actually now in front of them. I took the baby and tried to locate someone who would raise it, since the parents were convinced it had died and wanted nothing else to do with it.

Then, I awoke from the dream. As I went about my morning, the Lord began to reveal its meaning to me.

He said, “Many, many people believe their dreams, ministries, miracles, and businesses have died. They perceive them as dead and, as a result, they have become bitter and angry. I cannot work in that atmosphere.”

This dream has remained with me for days. I understood what God was saying, but I had not yet put it all togetheruntil this morning. As I was sitting at my desk, talking to the Lord about the dream, He said, “Root of bitterness.” Aha!

Heb. 12:15 says, “Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many are defiled.”

A root of bitterness defiles a person. What does that mean? The Webster’s 1828 dictionary explains it like this: A root of bitterness is a dangerous error, or schism, tending to draw persons to apostasy. (Apostasy is defined as defection, or to depart.) In other words, a root of bitterness will produce an abandonment of what one has professeda total desertion or departure from one's faith or religion.

This reminds me of Prov. 29:18, which says, “Without a vision, the people perish.” One translation says “they let go.” When we let go of something, it means we no longer believe the promise of God. When we no longer keep His promises before our eyes and we are no longer speaking them out of our mouths, we will eventually let go of them.

I understood that this is exactly what the couple had done. They had let go of God’s promise and, as a result, could not see that the baby they thought was dead, was actually alive! In reality, the baby needed their care to thrive, but they were so angry at what they thought was the loss of their baby, that they now refused the very thing for which they had prayed. As a result, the anger that had turned into a root of bitterness, now filled the young mother and completely blinded her to the gift before her.

The couple was so convinced their dreamtheir babyhad died, that they let it go. As a result, it was given to someone else. Their bitterness and anger deprived them of their dream/baby, and in place of the dream, bitterness and anger now ruled everything in their lives.

God’s message was clear and an important word for us today, in which He says, ”There are many people who have let go of their dream or their promise because they are convinced it is deadbut it is NOT dead! It is as alive as it was the first moment it was conceived within them. They have allowed themselves to become bitter and it has produced a root of bitterness, which is stopping Me from working in their lives. They have allowed frustration and anger to consume their hearts and minds so that they can’t even perceive their promise any longer. They have departed from their faith and their promise. They have departed from their confession of faith. They have departed from believing that the dream I placed in their heart will ever happen. And if they continue to believe that lie, the dream will be given to another.” Ouch!

Bitterness is an invisible root, which works on the inside. A person with a root of bitterness may still attend church and go through the motions as if all is alright, however, on the inside, they have let go of the promise, and they have departed from their faith in God to manifest that promise. This opens the door to the enemy. We are plainly told in the Word of God to give the devil NO place in our life, no place in our thoughts, and no place in our heart.

If you feel this speaking to you, then it can be remedied in a moment with a simple heart change. I encourage you to repent of any and all bitterness and ask God to remove the root of bitterness from your life once and for all.

Bitterness often comes when we are hurt or disappointed, especially over a long period of time.

It’s something we all need to watch out for. We must refuse bitterness and anger and continue to trust in a God who cannot lie. He has said He will perform all the words He has spoken to us, if we continue to trust Him, even if it looks impossibleespecially if it looks impossible!

I don’t know about you, but I would suggest we all go back and think about the dreams that we have walked away from or have forgotten. It is time to pull out every dream we thought would never come to pass, dust them off, and put them before our eyes again, UNTIL we see their full manifestation. They are alive! God has said so. All my dreams are alive and so are yours. Do not let them go!

Listen to me. Babies, miracles, dreams and promises are being birthed all around usnot somewhere in the future. Now! Do not let go of yours. The devil is a liar. That dream is alive and full of the power of God.
