It could be that you're believing God for a mate, extra income, your family to be saved, or a new car. But do you really believe that God can do those things for you? Well, if you believe His Word is true, then certainly you believe God is capable of supplying your needs.

The Bible says that after you have prayed, believe you receive and you shall have it.

In other words, act as though you have received. God has already given you His Word, He is faithful to His Word, He has the capability to perform His Word—so go ahead and thank Him for it. Praise is the highest expression of faith. It's telling God that you truly believe you have received even before you can see it!

Some time ago, my daughter and her husband experienced a situation where they had blessed another young couple with a trip to California. The couple was using their faith and believing God to go, so Terri and Rodney prayed about it and felt that God wanted to use them to meet the needs and desires of this other couple.

So, as they were sitting at a restaurant, my daughter handed them a card and in it read: "We know it is the desire of your heart to go on vacation, and that's why we're paying for your plane tickets to California.'"

After the couple read the card, the young man, with little enthusiasm, said, "Yep, we're going." Then the young lady said, "We're going to California…." Terri thought to herself, "I thought they would be a little more excited than that, maybe they just don't know what to say." So she said, "Start packing—God heard your prayers." The young man hesitantly said, "OK."

Realizing that they were not responding the way she imagined they would, Terri said, "Did you read the whole card?" And come to find out, they both read the card wrong. They thought it said, "...We know it is the desire of your heart to go on vacation, and that's why we're praying for your plane tickets to California…."

When Terri pointed out what it really said, they both lit up, put the biggest smile on their faces, shouted, hugged them both and thanked them continuously. There was a big difference in their expressions when they realized the tickets were already paid for versus when they thought they were still just believing for it.

Well, if they were praying about it, then didn't they believe God was going to do it anyway? The fact is we live in a "believe-it-when-I-see-it" world.

Most people do react differently when we actually see the manifestation of our faith rather than when we're only praying about it. But we shouldn't. When we pray, we should be just as excited. It's already taken care of in the spirit—it just has to manifest in the natural.

When we've prayed and presented our requests before God and then we don't sound very enthusiastic about it, can't you just hear God saying, "I thought they would be little more excited than that. They're not responding the way I thought they would."

It is so important to praise God for the things that we have not yet seen manifest with the physical eye. Don't ever stop praising and thanking the Lord for it. Faith demands action!

Whatever it is that you're believing for in your life, get back on the Word and find the scripture that relates to your particular circumstance. Start confessing your answer and give praise, thanksgiving, glory and honor to the Father for giving it to you.

The Lord wants to be praised. He wants to see your faith. He will move Heaven and earth for the person who stands in faith and gives Him praise. He is no respector of persons. Go ahead and let out a big shout—your needs have already been met!
