If you were to get really honest, you might admit that believing for this nation is hard for you right now.

We've seen so much that's ungodly in it. Attacks. Corruption. Immorality in leadership. Unrighteous judgments and behavior in many branches of government and in the civil arena.

How can you have faith when you've seen so much of that kind of thing?

The Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Rom. 10:17). Faith doesn't come by watching CNN. Faith doesn't come by reading the newspaper. Faith doesn't come by having lunch with your friends and talking about how bad things are.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

So instead of just throwing yourself down on the carpet starting to pray in the same old spirit of unbelief you've been praying in for years, stop and build your faith. Read what the Word says about the governing of nations.

Meditate on scriptures such as Job 12:13-25, Job 34:17-30, Isaiah 40:22-24, and Psalm 75.

Fellowship with the Holy Spirit and pray in other tongues, building yourself up on your most holy faith (Jude 21).

Keep at it until the Word you're reading jumps up on the page and comes alive in your heart. Stay with it until the Holy Spirit who is the Revealer reveals to you that this is not just the written Word...it's the Word the Lord has spoken to you!

When that happens you won't care what the newspapers say. You won't care what the television reporter is saying. You'll just stand fast on the Word of the Lord.

You won't pray the problem. You'll pray the revelation!

I'm telling you, I got that way about the last election. Sometimes I'd turn on the television and read the Bible to the newscaster. I really did! Why? Because I knew the Word of the Lord was the final word! The Holy Spirit had revealed that to me.

Now that's powerful even when you're doing it alone. But when whole congregations start praying for this nation corporately with that kind of faith, the devil will be hard pressed to find a foothold anywhere! We can drive him out of every public office in this nation.
