As an act of faith, I clothe myself with humility and receive Your grace. I humble myself under Your mighty hand, Lord, that You may exalt me in due time. I refuse to exalt myself. I do not think of myself more highly than I ought; I do not have an exaggerated opinion of my own importance, but rate my ability with sober judgment, according to the degree of faith apportioned to me.
Proverbs 11:2 says, "When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom." Father, I set myself to resist pride when it comes. My desire is to be counted among the lowly, so I take on the attitude of a servant.
Father, thank You that You dwell with one who is of a contrite and humble spirit. You revive the spirit of the humble and revive the heart of the contrite one. Thank You that the reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.
In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
