Lord, help me to understand my parents and the wisdom that they bring to my life. Help me to not reject their discipline and advice. Right now, Lord, I don't understand everything that they do. People tell me that I will appreciate them when I am older, but give me the wisdom to appreciate them now. Thanks for putting them in my life. Help us to grow closer every day. I want to be a reflection of You in my interactions with them.

At the same time, help my parents to understand me better. It's been a while since they were my age, and it is probably difficult to know everything that I am facing. Things have changed a little bit since they were my age. But help me to not write off what they do know.

You have given them to me for a reason, and I do not take that for granted. I know that there is so much that I can learn from them, and there is so much that they can learn from me. Help us to communicate and spend time together so we can understand each other better. Thank You, Jesus.
