Many of us have heard others talk about how someone can receive Christ into their heart and become born again. But today I want to talk about sharing Christ with others.

I am going to talk to you about the "ABCs" of salvation and how easy it is to share your faith in Christ with others.

The ABCs of Salvation
I want you to ask this question: do you know how to tell someone how to be born again? Let's read in (Rom. 10:9) "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised Him for the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Here are the ABCs of salvation:

A. Acknowledge
In order to be saved, they have to acknowledge that they are a sinner. That's the first thing.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
(Rom. 3:23)

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
(Isa. 53:6)

For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
(James 2:10)

But glory, honour, and peace to every man that worketh good to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. For there is no respect of persons with God.
(Romans 2:10-11)
So they must acknowledge that they are a sinner.

B. They Must Believe In Christ
And they said, "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
(Acts 16:31)

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
(Luke 5:32)

I tell you that except you repent you shall all likewise perish.
(Luke 13:3)

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth to repentance?
(Rom. 2:4)

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)
C. They Must Confess Christ As Their Savior
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God.
(1 John 4:15)

And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
(Acts 19:18)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us out sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1 John 1:9)
Three Easy Steps
Now that's the basic plan…A, B, and C. That's how you win people to Christ. Know what you're talking about…the A, B, C's of salvation.

ACKNOWLEDGE that you're a sinner
BELIEVE in Christ
CONFESS Christ as Savior

I'm giving you some more Scriptures as an outline. Also, I'm not going to tell you that you're not going to run into some people who will have objections or questions.

For instance, suppose you want to talk to someone about being born again, and they say to you, "Not now—some other time." How do you answer this objection?

Here's some Scriptures that will help you. When they say, "Not now, some other time," keep these verses in mind:

  • Proverbs 27:1: "Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."
  • Hebrews 3:15: "While it is yet today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts."
  • Luke 12:19: "And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee, then whose shall those things be which thou has provided?"

Like I said, I hope you use the above verses of Scriptures to encourage them to make that commitment to the Lord right now. Your might also want to have this verse of Scripture that I think is very important:

"Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near."
    (Isa. 55:6)

Try to encourage them to realize that God's time is RIGHT NOW!

    Above All, Be Sincere
When I look back at my own experiences about sharing and preaching about Christ, I found out that I was putting on some kind of religions facade at times. It was sort of a mask in some ways, to get up behind the pulpit and suddenly sound religious, as opposed to just being me.

I found out that I can't be Billy Graham, because God called Billy Graham to be Billy Graham. I just have to be me. I found out that just being Dwight Thompson was the best thing to be because that was all I was.

    Just be sincere!

Paul said in Philippians 1:10, "That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ."

Again, I want you who are reading this just to be yourself. You're really super! God had a wonderful idea when He made you, so don't try to be someone else—just be yourself.

You see, you can (and will) influence someone that will never listen to me. I could never reach them but YOU CAN! Let that personality just come out and be yourself, because people will listen to you.
