A family that follows the divine leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ is a living, breathing demonstration of the love of God.
The home is very important to God. In fact, He created families before He created the Church. When God created Adam and Eve, He placed them in relation to each other and to their children. He established the family as the pattern for all mankind because He wanted us to live together as families.

God never intended for us to be isolated and independent beings, running around doing our own thing. He created us to live together - husband, wife and children - so we could love and care for each other.

The family is important because it helps us understand God as our heavenly Father. Because we love and care for our children, we can better understand God's great love and care for us. To be better parents, we can look to Him as our example. We can more easily understand our children's struggles when we consider our own struggles as God's children.

A true Christian home is one of the greatest witnesses of the Gospel to our sin-sick world. People watch how we live. They hear what we do much louder than what we say. That's why a family committed to God has tremendous influence on the world.

A family that follows the divine leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ is a living, breathing demonstration of the love of God, the power of the Holy Spirit and the abundant life that is available to believers.

A Christian home is a tremendous witness because it exists where people live. It exists in the nitty-gritty of life where people laugh and cry and love. The Church is important, but the Christian home is the heart and life of the Church.

Being a Christian parent is probably the most important and challenging job you can take on today. It is rewarding, exasperating, joyful and sometimes overwhelming. You can laugh, cry, love and pray more than you ever thought possible.

So much depends on how well we raise our kids to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. More is at stake than their individual lives or even the well-being of our families. The very future of the Church, the Body of Christ, rests on how well we do our job as Christian parents.

Passing It On To Our Kids
The message of the Gospel won't go forth if we don't train up our young people to carry on the work of Jesus Christ. Not only are we to teach our kids the Word of God, we should also let them see the power of the Holy Spirit in action. Otherwise, the Church will someday have only a form of godliness which denies the power thereof (2 Tim. 3:5).

The Bible has much to say about Christian parenting. One of its best verses is not very well-known: We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done (Ps. 78:4 NIV).

The future of our nation rests with our children. Today, as never before, we are seeing an all-out assault on the hearts, minds and souls of our kids. Satan is using every temptation possible to snare them. He knows that by destroying them, he can destroy the home. By destroying the Christian home, he can destroy America.

If we lose our children to him, we as a nation will be defeated. While we struggle with the evil in the world, we can be defeated from within, and our defeat could come more quickly and completely than we ever thought possible.

That's why in recent years we have become more and more concerned about children. We are deeply concerned about the tremendous task that Christian parents face today in raising their kids for Jesus Christ. We are struggling with forces and issues that no other generation has had to deal with.

And while the problems have increased, it seems that the availability of clear-cut Bible answers has decreased. Everywhere we turn there seems to be another self- proclaimed "child "expert" telling us how to raise our kids, how to deal with our problems, what everything means and what to do when it happens.

But few are providing us with real answers based on the Word of God and faith in Him

One of the most important truths we can share with you is this: God is on your side and He will never - NEVER - fail you.

God Will Never Leave You
Maybe your situation seems impossible. Maybe you are tired. Maybe your wisdom and experience are exhausted. But God is there to help you. Remember, He will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5). He wants you to succeed even more than you want to succeed.

He will give you the strength and wisdom - and even the endurance - you need to help you through whatever comes your way. You may be facing a bad situation, but He will always help you go through it with power and victory.

The second truth we want to remind you of is this: God doesn't require you to be a perfect parent raising perfect children. He only asks that you yield yourself to Him and give Him your best. Then He will provide His grace, His love and His patience to help you. He will give you the Holy Spirit to guide you, to live in you and through you, to help you be like Him in spite of your human ways.

Remember, you were a sinner, but you have been saved by grace -and so has your child if he has accepted Jesus Christ. But no matter how hard you try or how much you may want it to be, you will never be perfect in this earthly life. And neither will your child. Sometimes we put ourselves under condemnation because we make mistakes. And we don't let our children be human and make mistakes either.

The home is, after all, the place where we live out God's grace. It's the testing ground of faith. It's the place where we can struggle and fail and begin again, where we forgive and are forgiven, where we love and are loved without reservation. It should be a place where we can laugh together and enjoy each other.

It's our prayer that this information will help you to raise your children in the admonition of the Lord (Eph. 6:4).

The Lord never intended for Christian parenting to be a totally overwhelming task. We believe His Word contains the answers you need, and the Holy Spirit has the power you need to do your job well. He's willing and ready to help you, because He knows that what you do as a parent is vitally important to your child...to our nation...and to the kingdom of God.
