A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her.
(Prov. 31:10-11)
In order for a marriage relationship to be truly intimate, the husband and wife must have confidence in one another. You have confidence in Jesus because over time you have developed a closeness with Him.

You know He will keep His Word and that you can trust Him. You can tell Him your most personal secrets. He will never betray you.

In the same way, marriage partners develop confidence in one another by sharing and truly getting to know one another. This takes time, but the effort is worth it. A special closeness develops where no one knows more about you than your mate and you about him.

You know each other's strengths and weaknesses, and all secrets are kept safe between you. There is no reason to hold back, because friends look for ways to create security.

Yet often husbands are not intimate with their wives because they know that what they share will be repeated to someone else.

Proverbs 16:28 NKJV calls this type of woman a "whisperer," and she separates best friends—even herself from her mate.

Instead of nurturing confidence, a wall of distrust is built; and where there is no confidence, fear, complaints, and murmuring will come forth.

Be a person of your word. Build confidence in one another. The result will be the sweet reward of intimacy.1

Make Your Day Count
Examine your heart today. Is your husband able to have total confidence in you? If there are areas that need adjustment, take them to God in prayer and make the necessary changes.
