My husband does not want to serve God. I have to "drag him" to church on Sundays. He does not read his Bible, or even want to talk about God with me. Every time I tell him he must serve God we get into a colossal fight. What do I do?

I am a very strong believer in a wife confronting her husband when it comes to marital problems. However, when it comes to spiritual things, the Bible tells us that the wife should not continually confront the husband. Let us look at a key Scripture.
Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.
(1 Peter 3:1-2)
This Scripture is dealing with a husband that is either not a Christian, or is a Christian and is not living for the Lord. Your husband fits into this category.

It is important to point out that these verses are not dealing with an abusive situation or a relationship problem. In these types of cases the wife needs to use wisdom in confronting her husband. Caution must be exercised in abusive or volatile situations.

Verse one is telling you what to do in your situation. You are told to win him over to the Lord without speaking a word.

The Bible is saying that you shouldn't try to push your husband into spiritual things. You shouldn't tell him how unspiritual he is, or point out all his spiritual faults. As you're finding out, that will only push a man away from God.

The way to draw a husband into the kingdom of God, or into a closer fellowship with the Lord is by your lifestyle. Let him see God working in your life.

This will make him hungry for what you have. According to these verses he will eventually be won over to God.
