When you know that God has not given you the spirit of a coward, timidity will leave you. Jesus said, "Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me." Realize who you are in Christ. Realize that God has enabled you and empowered you to do it.
Another thing you need to realize is that the world is waiting for you. Your neighbor is waiting. The guy at the grocery store is waiting. The fellow down at the service station is waiting. They are waiting - for you!
I've had more fun leading service station attendants and waitresses to the Lord. It's fun!
One day I was in Birmingham, Alabama. When I got off the airplane, a taxi driver took me to the hotel. Before I got to the hotel, I had led the taxi driver to the Lord. When I got to the hotel, I led the maid to the Lord too. It's not hard to win souls!
We are effective witnesses in the sight of God because He has empowered us to be so. What we need to do is start seeing ourselves the way God sees us.
You can be an effective witness for Jesus Christ. Would you like to do that? If so, then pray this prayer of commitment right now. Say this out loud:
In the name of Jesus, I have received power - miracle-working ability - for I have received the Holy Ghost. I am bold as the lion of Judah. I am the righteousness of God, and the righteous are bold as a lion.
God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I am not a coward. In the name of Jesus, I have boldness. Through Him, by Him, and with Him I can do all things for the Greater One dwells within me. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.
Heavenly Father, I am Your ambassador. If You are looking for someone to send, here am I, send me. I'll go. I'm Your ambassador. I'm Your representative. I expect You to work with me confirming the Word with signs following, for I'm bold as a lion.
The world awaits me. The lost await me. In the name of Jesus, I am wise because I win souls for the Kingdom of God.
Thank You, Lord, for making me an effective witness for You. Praise the Lord! Amen.
