God has provided you with everything you need to share the gospel. He's provided you with His ability. He's given you His authority. And He has anointed you to preach the gospel.

Yet these things are useless unless you give to God the one thing He needs from you—your availability.

I don't share these things to condemn you, but rather to stir your heart into action. If you don't go, who will? Romans 10:14-15 says:
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Yes, the devil is out there. And the last thing he wants is for you to share your faith and destroy his kingdom.

Yes, he will fight you every step of the way with fear and distractions and negative feelings. But, glory to God, Jesus defeated him 2,000 years ago on the cross. We are not ignorant of his devices against us. When we expose his tactics and recognize his roadblocks, half the battle is won.

Listen, Satan cannot stop you from going out and speaking God's Word into someone's life, and he can't stop people from receiving that Word into their life. The only real weapons he has are fear and deception.

The fact that we know this puts the devil in great disadvantage. The most difficult thing about evangelism is "showing up." You have to put down the fear in your mind. You have to get your flesh under control when it would rather lie on the couch and watch TV all night.

And you have to get over feeling insecure about not having the whole Bible memorized. Those are the most common tactics the devil uses to keep Christians from witnessing.

Let me tell you a secret. When you get involved with evangelism, you get a whole lot of blessings in return. Your life will change so dramatically, you won't recognize yourself. Shy people turn into bold people. Depressed people become full of joy. People, who feel they have nothing to live for, are filled with meaning and a mission.

A guy named Joe from my ministry shared with me how street witnessing has changed his life. Here is his testimony:
Street witnessing started out as something I would do "some day." My reasons for not going were two-fold. First, I didn't feel I knew enough Bible. Second, every time I tried to talk about the Lord, it always turned into an argument. But my friend got me involved.

Pastor Nick tells us that it is not our responsibility to get people saved—it is the Holy Spirit's job. Our job is simply to show up and go out. I said, "I can do that." I also learned how to talk with someone without it becoming confrontational.

As I've been faithful to "show up" and "go out," I have learned how to minister to people. It's exciting to experience the anointing of the Holy Spirit. At times, words flow out of you like a preacher and the gifts of the Spirit operate through you. Nick tells us, "As you go, you grow," and it is so true. Witnessing is fun.
Here is a testimony from Diana on what street witnessing did for her life:
Evangelism has revolutionized my life. I used to be very depressed, withdrawn, and beaten down. Shortly after I got involved in evangelism, that was reversed. Instead of being depressed, I have great joy. Some people even say I have great boldness now.

Many times, the Holy Spirit has led me to approach someone who was going through the same things I was going through. The Holy Spirit would prompt me to minister to their need, and I would end up ministering to myself as well.

So far, I have gone on mission trips to Peru, Mexico, New York, and Chicago. God has provided the finances for me to go every time. It's true, all you have to do is make yourself available and step out—God makes the way.
Now I want to share with you a testimony from a woman named Ruth:
I became a part of the evangelism ministry because someone kept asking me to try it. I hated the thought of it. Besides I felt inadequate. I knew only one scripture—John 3:16.

One day in front of several people, this person asked me to go out witnessing. I was too embarrassed to say no. I felt sort of trapped into it. That night when I drove to church, my flesh and mind were screaming, "I don't want to go."

But I decided to try it at least three times. By the third time, I was filled with the Holy Spirit and my entire life has changed. God has taught me that if I am willing and obedient, I can be a witness anywhere. Witnessing is no longer a chore. It is imbedded within my soul.
Brothers and sisters, has your Christian experience become dull and boring? Has the fire gone out of your lamp? Has your relationship with God become routine?

If it has, you need a shot in the arm. You need to begin sharing your faith. It will transform your life. You will start waking up in the morning glad to be alive. Your life will have purpose and meaning. And as you obey His command to "go," the desire to be used of God will be fulfilled.
