A New Day Dawning
Praying that you will enjoy a year of health, harvest, and happiness

cfaith Partner Letter
January 2011

Over the past few weeks, I visited several different websites, blogs, and Facebook pages and enjoyed reading people's views and opinions concerning the new year. As you might expect, most people were optimistic, happy, and looking forward to the next 12 months.

But not everyone....

Sadly, I also came across many other comments which were filled with doubt, fear, or another reservations pertaining to the new year. Then I stumbled upon this poem:

It's only the beginning now
A pathway yet unknown
At times the sound of other steps
Sometimes we walk alone

The best beginnings of our lives
May sometimes end in sorrow
But even on our darkest days
The sun will shine tomorrow

So we must do our very best
Whatever life may bring
And look beyond the winter chill
To smell the breath of spring

Into each life will always come
A time to start anew
A new beginning for each heart
As fresh as morning dew

Although the cares of life are great
And hands are bowed so low
The storms of life will leave behind
The wonder of a rainbow

The years will never take away
Our chance to start anew
It's only the beginning now
So dreams can still come true

(by Gertrude B. McClain)

Trials of Life
Unfortunately, all of us have experienced what it is like to 'walk alone' at various times in our lives. And things considered 'best beginnings' are not supposed to end in sorrow, but sometimes they do.

So what should you do then? How are Christians and faith-filled Believers supposed to act when our lives don't quite line up with our prayers and confessions?

What do we do when our outlook or expectation about tomorrow—let alone the next 12 months—is not as positive as it should be?

You continue to stand. And never lose hope.

"...that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore...."
- Eph. 6:13-14 NKJV

"And his name will be the hope of all the world."

- Matt. 12:21 NLT

We need to remember that God is always with us, even in our times of trial (Luke 22:28). Beyond that, the Bible says that when our faith remains strong through our trials it will produce much praise, glory, and honor on the day when Christ is revealed to the whole world (1 Peter 1:6).

Whether you are one who is excited or reserved about 2011, I encourage you to step out boldly into the new year with hope and high expectations. Draw your happiness and strength from the Lord and never stop trusting in Him for all that you and your family may need.
