"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat" (Gen. 3:6).

Satan will do whatever he can to get your attention. He got Eve's attention by getting her to look at the tree. When she saw that it was good for fruit, pleasant to the eyes, and desired to make one wise, she paid attention to the forbidden.

God presents opportunities to you. At the same time Satan will dangle all kinds of stuff in front of you. So don't just grab for anything that comes along, pray first and get peace about it. Colossians says allow the peace of God to rule, or be the umpire—calling all the shots in your life.

When Satan dangled that fruit in front of Eve, she touched it. Now don't you believe for a minute that every time someone gives you a gift, it's from the Holy Spirit. If you don't pay attention to your Spirit, then you'll do what Eve did—touch it.

Now once you touch it, you're going to partake of it. And not only that, you'll take others with you. She ate and then gave to her husband. Since He didn't protect his wife, he ended up choosing her over God and they both died spiritually.

Satan will try to put you in that position. He'll try to get you to choose sin over God, just so he can drive you away from God.

Verse 7 says, their eyes were opened. So they tried to fix the problem by covering it up. But once you've sinned, there's nothing you can do to fix the problem except repent.

First John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." First you have to acknowledge that you did miss it. You can't have a haughty attitude as though you didn't do it. Just repent before God and He will forgive you.

God is a good God. If you will confess it before him, He will treat you as though sin has never been. He is a merciful, almighty God who loves you so much that He will continue to bless you even though you may have messed up in the past. God will restore the anointing upon your life, lift you up, and increase will come your way.
