The blood not only protects us, it is through the blood that God gives us the ability to do His will. "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will" (Heb.13:20).

In the New Testament, the apostle Paul sometimes uses sentences that seem like they're a page long. Do you know what I'm saying? But if you take out all the descriptive phrases and get down to only the subject and the verb, you can take Hebrews 13:20 and say, "May God, through the blood, make you complete to do His will." Look at the scripture again.

"May God through the blood make you complete to do His will." The blood of Jesus will make you complete so you can do what God wants done. It's so simple; it takes a preacher to confuse it.

His will is that we simply have faith in all He has done with His blood. His blood cleanses, heals, protects, and allows us to overcome the trials of life. But we must apply our faith in the blood in order for that to happen.

Jesus has already applied the blood to the mercy seat in heaven. "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption" (Heb. 9:12).

"For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us" (Heb. 9:24).

He's standing there before God for us. The blood is there. We acknowledge the power of the blood and what the blood has done by faith. When we do that, we will be protected.

Psalm 9:12 says, "When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble."

The word cry can also mean pleading. We must plead our case. Our witness is the blood. Our case is based upon the blood evidence. Because of the evidence of the blood presented in the courtroom of heaven, we win. We win! When the judge says, "How do you plead?" You say, "I plead the blood of Jesus!"
