"He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given" (Matt.13:11).

Jesus said it is given unto you to know the mysteries. Well, what does that mean? That means it is given to you to know or have revelation. Then He goes on to say, but to them it is not given. Well, why is it given to some and not to others?

Well, the Scripture tells us why. "For whosoever hath to him shall be given." You may be saying, "now wait a minute, don't you think the people who don't have should be the ones who get?" But, you see, that's not the way it works in the Kingdom of heaven. God's way is to give those who have revelation more revelation.

Now the reason why some people had revelation and some didn't was because Jesus spoke in parables and they didn't understand His message. You can understand this. Just think back when you were first saved and even some years afterwards, the Bible was proverbial Greek to you.

The reason for that was because you had to have revelation to see it. The truths in the Word of God are not hidden from you; they are hidden FOR you. But unless you spend time in the Word, and before God in the Holy Ghost, you won't receive revelation.

Matthew 13:15 tells us why some people don't have revelation: "For this people heart is waxed gross." A person whose heart is hard cannot receive revelation in the things of God. That means if your heart is hard in a specific area, you won't receive revelation from God in that area.

A hard heart comes from doing wrong, and then rejecting the spirit of God when He dealt with you about it. So, instead of repenting, you just keep on doing it. Well, the more you do that, the less sensitive you are to God until eventually your heart becomes hard.

Verse 15 also tells us, their ears were dull of hearing and they have closed their eyes. In other words, when your heart is hard, spiritually you can't hear anymore, and you have closed your eyes or decided not to look at what the Word says about the situation.

Well, God has great benefits for you when you hear with your ears, see with your eyes, and understand with your hearts. That is, God will heal you in every area of your life. Hallelujah!
