"Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands" (2 Tim. 1:6).

Why did Paul tell Timothy to, "stir up the gift of God, which is in thee…"? He told Timothy that because the gift of God in us is that supernatural ennoblement, supernatural strength, power, and ability - it's the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will carry you through anything that attacks your mind. He will cause you to walk in total victory in your life.

As believers, we have to apply spiritual power to every natural problem in our lives. The natural has to respond to the spiritual, always, because a Spirit made the natural; therefore, the spirit is more powerful than the natural.

You see, God has given you the ability to operate in both the flesh realm and the spiritual realm - the choice is yours. You can operate totally in the flesh realm, which is Satan's turf, and he has the upper hand. Or you can operate in the spiritual realm, which is where the power of God is and you can defeat the devil every time.

Now, I don't know about you but I don't like to lose. I have never been a good loser. I like to win. That's the attitude God wants you to have because you are a winner in Christ Jesus. But you have to be strong in the Lord in every area of your life.

Paul tells Timothy the same thing. Timothy was going through a time of trouble, which was causing him to fear. So Paul tells him to increase in strength, be empowered, and make himself strong in the Lord.

The reason Paul told Timothy to get out of his natural strength is because if he stayed there he wasn't going to make it.

Paul helps Timothy get over into this spiritual power by calling to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in him. He reminds Timothy of his lineage of strong faith - his grandmother and his mother was strong in faith, and he is too.

And that's what we ought to expect of our children. You see I expect my children to be anointed and strong in faith. They have a lineage of it. And when my grandchildren are born, they're going to be stronger in faith than their grandfather - I'm talking about generational blessings.

So stir up the gift of God that's on the inside of you; be strengthen in faith.
