Do you know that your flesh does not accomplish or benefit anything from a spiritual viewpoint? Naturally speaking, our flesh can push and strive, groan and sacrifice to get ahead in the eyes of men. But when God considers those results He will say that it adds up to nothing. It is living by the Spirit of God in our spirit man that puts us over.

The Message Bible says: "The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don't make anything happen. Every word I've spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making."

The words that we receive from Jesus are from that life-making Spirit and will develop a spiritual side in us if we receive them. Life is spiritual. Your bodily being doesn't contribute to that life. The Spirit is the life giver; the flesh is of no eternal value. The spirit is eternal; the flesh is temporal. The Word of God Jesus has spoken to us brings us an invigorating Spirit filled life both now and forever.

Today's Thought to Take With You:

My life giver is Jesus. His Word is all I need for life. My flesh can relax in God.
