A Daily Reminder of Our Redemption

by Keith Butler | The Anointed Word

“After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Cor. 11:25 KJV).

God remembers His covenant with us. We ought to remember the kindness that He has shown toward us in forgiving us of sin in our daily lives. And as Christians – real Christians – we should live every day like we are forgiven and redeemed.

We should be eternally grateful to God for all that He has provided for us through the precious blood of Jesus. His gift to us should be evident in every moment of our life, from the time we wake up to the time we lay our heads down to sleep.

The following are some ways to remember Jesus daily.

• We remember Him by what we say. God has declared us righteous because of the blood. Speaking the name of Jesus that has been given to us because of the blood establishes God’s will in our life. It confirms in us that when we speak that name in faith everything else must bow to it.

• We remember Jesus by what we do – in public and in private. I am talking about practicing Christianity. I am not talking about the individual that goes to church and sits down, having done his/her religious duty for the day.

We are the ones who go to church, hear the Word and put it to work in our life. The Word influences us and causes a change in us that is evident to everyone around us. I am talking about the practicing Christian.

• We remember Jesus by being an example to our family. We are the ones that are pleading the blood when we have to be out at night. The practicing Christian thanks God when they get up in the morning. They thank God that they’re in right standing with Him. They thank Him for moving heaven and earth for them.

Surely there is nothing they’ll face today that is going to win over them because they believe in the name and the blood. And they leave out the door that way. Their children hear them, and they walk out saying the same thing.

As a result, they are safe on the way to school, in school, and on the way home, no matter what neighborhood they live in. They heard mama and daddy plead the blood, and they are doing it, too.

• We remember Jesus by rehearsing today’s victories every night. The whole family at the end of the day (when they come back together after going their separate ways) begins to thank God for His goodness for that day. God had used them in whatever way He wanted to that day. That is what real Christians do.

God remembers His covenant with us. We ought to do the same. Remember the covenant you have with God, and He will surely move mountains for you.
