“That He would show you the secrets of wisdom! For they would double your prudence….” (Job 11:6 NKJ).
Here is a word from the Lord that links the best of two realms. It blends natural skills, understanding and expertise with supernatural insight. It is the Lord’s way of adding the wisdom from above to the natural common sense and native ability He has given each of us.
God’s superior knowledge coupled with our natural human instinct produces an unbeatable combination.
This verse is especially vital to salesmen, executives, factory foremen, employers, business owners, and all those who must compete daily in the market place of life. Our God is telling us to be knowledgeable, informed, aware.
Each of us needs to know everything he can find out about his occupation if he expects to succeed in this competitive world. The Christian has to think faster and better than the competition if he is to survive.
The non-Christian’s thinking is pre-occupied with self-aggrandizement. The Christian, on the other hand, has a clear channel to wisdom because the Holy Spirit of God has shown him how to get the victory over selfishness.
Here, the Lord is promising to add His knowledge, understanding, insight and expertise to ours. That gives us a double portion of wisdom – or what one translator calls “two-sided wisdom.”
Make this fourfold confession of faith: “With God’s wisdom I can have:
1) twice the results with half the effort
2) the competitive edge over the non-Christian
3) a doubled output
4) a double portion of God’s blessing on my life and work.”

Dick Mills was ordained at The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in 1949. He and his wife Betty traveled as evangelists all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Europe, and Australia. Dick and Betty are now home in heaven.
In 1966 Dick and Betty became a part of the then-emerging Charismatic Renewal. Passing through all denominational barriers, Dick has had the opportunity to speak in thousands of churches of varied backgrounds all over the world.
He ministered within several Christian organizations, including the Full Gospel Business Men, Women's Aglow, Inter-church Renewal Catholic Pentecostals, mainline Charismatic groups, CBN and TBN television networks, and many other independent Christian TV stations.
Dick appeared on numerous radio talk shows, written several magazine articles, and spoke at many Bible conferences and universities. He served as an adjunct professor at six Schools of the Bible and Seminaries.
In addition, Dick authored and co-authored several books and tapes. Dick's ministry was characterized by the unique gifts God has blessed him with. His services informed, enlightened, and motivated people to a higher level of commitment to God.
