… you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
(Matt. 11:29 AMP)
There is a time to run full throttle, pedal fast, focus to the finish and leave everything on the court. Then there is a time for relief, ease, refreshment, recreation and blessed quiet.
I’ve experienced several decades of full throttle, pedal to the metal, 24/7 ministry sprints and leaving it all on the church floor so to speak—but I’ve also experienced seasons where I sensed the Lord leading me into a period of rest, ease, refreshment and recreation for my soul.
How about you? Perhaps you are entering a season change—maybe it’s time for you to pick up the pace and put the pedal to the metal or maybe the Lord is leading you into a place of still waters and green pastures. In any event, be encouraged to continue listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and follow His leading!
Remember, no matter what seasons you are in, we can trust our good Shepherd to help us find rest…
The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His Name.
(Ps. 23:1-3 NLT)
Say It: Father, I thank You that You’re with me in the busy times and that You also help me find rest, relief, ease, refreshment, recreation and blessed quiet for my soul. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
