“Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
This verse states that whatever we ask God for in prayer, believing in, and being confident of the answer, when we pray we will receive. Notice, it says, “When you pray.” Most people make their petition to God in prayer and then wait to believe that God has heard their prayer and answered them when they obtain the answer.
The Message Bible says: “That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything.”
For a positive answer to prayer every time, we must believe God hears us and grants us the petition, at the time we are doing the asking. That, of course, involves faith. Faith is the evidence of things we can’t see yet.
If we were to wait until we saw the answer before we believed God, faith wouldn’t even be needed, because we would already have the answer. No, we are required to believe when we pray.
I believe that God hears me and answers my prayer (when I am praying).
