Checking Employment References

by Steve Marr | Articles, Business

Do you carefully check employment references on prospective hires?

King Solomon wrote, “The naive believe everything…” (Proverbs 14:15 NASB).

Some folks make a great impression during an interview, but the interview gives only part of the story.

The best predictor of future performance is past performance.

Call past references; ask for others whom the person worked with and call them.

Ask about reliability, teamwork and integrity.

Dig deep and ask follow-up questions. References may be the key to your hiring process.

The time you invest on checking references will pay great dividends as you hire a quality business team.
