Clear Conscience

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

(Heb. 9:14 NASB)

The blood Jesus offered to God as a sacrifice for our faults and shortcomings not only removed the sin, but also removed the consciousness of sin from our souls. That means that we are freed from the sin and it?s aftermath and we can now think clearly, undefiled by constant nagging remembrances.

The Message Bible says: Think how much more the blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out.

What Jesus did saves us from the guilt and condemnation of our wrongdoing by writing, “You are forgiven” on our souls. Our thoughts and motives, words and deeds can now be pleasing to God. For the rest of our lives we can serve God with a clear conscience.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

My conscience is clear today because of the blood of Jesus. He cleansed my conscience from dead works and I serve the living God.
