“My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you” (Dan. 6:22 NKJV).
Sometimes it seems that you are thrown into a den of lions to be devoured by the enemy. But, when you know that God loves you so much in the secret place of His love, you are going to be delivered from whatever comes up against you.
Daniel was the number two man in the province, and was made a success by his trust in God. Others, jealous of his success, manipulated the king, and lied against Daniel, causing him to be thrown into a den of hungry lions. The king however, later recognized that he was manipulated and couldn’t sleep all night. He labored until the going down of the sun whether to throw Daniel to the lions, or to set Daniel free.
Now in my office you will see what a lion looks like up close, because I have a full body mounted lion in my office that I killed while hunting in Africa. And I am telling you that one lion will rip a person to shreds. The first time I was out there in Africa and saw a whole pride of lions, I thought about Daniel. How in the world did a man sleep with these guys all night? There is only one way…by the power of God.
Daniel trusted in the living God to deliver Him, and that is exactly what God did. God set him free by using an angel. An angel of God was involved here. And angels have been involved to deliver you at times you didn’t even know about. It was the Word to deliver you. God set you free from certain death, just as I have been set free several times from certain death. And he will yet deliver you in the future when you keep your trust in God.
It’s no wonder the psalmist said, “He that dwells in the secret place of the most high God shall abide under the shadow, I will say of the Lord he is my refuge, he is my fortress, he is my mighty God in time of trouble. He will deliver me….”
You must say that God delivers you, because you know that God is the Deliverer. And He will use whatever method is necessary to bring about victory for you. He’ll do it whether or not He has to keep you here and send an angel, or whether He has to equip you to win a fight, or whether He just moves you quickly, or whether He lifts you high above the situation or just pushes you past it.
Whatever it takes, if your trust is in God’s love, you will experience deliverance. Stop right now and praise God for deliverance today.
