He Made Peace

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

(Col. 1:20 KJV)

God was pleased when Jesus made peace for all things in heaven and earth by the sacrifice of His blood on the cross. Peace means harmony. Harmony is the absence of discord and conflict. We don’t have harmony in the world but thank God we do have it in Christ Jesus.

The Message Bible says: Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross.

To say that things get properly fixed in Christ implies that we may be broken and hurt outside of Christ. There are difficult issues in our lives. God has committed Himself to our welfare and the solution of our problems in Jesus His Son.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I have peace with God and others through the blood of His cross. I am in harmony with God’s plan for my life.
