Hold On To The Head

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

And not holding the Head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth, which is from God.

(Col. 2:19 NASB)

This verse is talking about people who don’t stay in touch with Jesus Christ. They’re not joined to or a part of the Head of the body of Christ. If you lose touch with your head it means you are in big trouble.

The Message Bible says: They’re completely out of touch with the source of life, Christ, who puts us together in one piece, whose very breath and blood flow through us. He is the Head and we are the body. We can grow up healthy in God only as he nourishes us.

The head is head of the whole body. He gives the body its strength. He uses each piece to hold the others together so it can grow up by the power of God. God is pleased with us when we grow with the nourishment He supplies. Don’t lose your head. Stay vitally connected to Jesus.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am going to walk in such a way to stay in touch with my Head, Jesus Christ.
