"In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise."
(Eph. 1:13 NASB)

When you heard the good news of your salvation and believed it, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. The word "sealed" means to stamp with a signet or private mark. It means to fasten us up by the Holy Spirit and keep us as a top-secret prize, safe from the enemy.

The Message Bible says: "It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit."

It's because you heard and believed the message of truth and put your faith in Christ that you were given the promised Holy Spirit to show everyone that you belong to God. God put His stamp of ownership and approval on you, giving you the Holy Spirit, and now you can live for Him according to the promise.

Today's Thought to Take With You:
I am a child of God. God has sealed me with the Holy Spirit because I believe in Jesus.
