"I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I (confidently) trust!" (Psalm 91:2)

I will say! This is one of the key things important about the person who lives in the protective shadow of the Almighty, as described in Psalm 91. He speaks in faith. He says of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I (confidently) trust!"

This man is doing more than just trusting God with his heart; he's saying it with his mouth! That's what you need to b doing, too. You see, faith brings God's supernatural power into this natural realm. And faith is released into this natural realm by words. So you need to be saying, "God is my refuge. He is my fortress. I trust in Him!"

I can't count the times I've said those words. I've meditated on the 91st Psalm and said it so often that at any moment of danger, that is what springs up inside me. When I run into trouble, my mouth doesn't say, "I'm scared to death." My mouth says, "The Lord is my refuge. He shall deliver me!"

Make up your mind right now to get your mouth in line with God's Word. Do you know what will happen if you do? You'll be able to go to sleep at night. You won't lie there in worry or fear. Instead, you'll trust God with every part of your life. And no matter what circumstance you're in, you'll be able to just turn over and go to sleep. The Bible says God gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2).

One night, years ago, Ken and I were spending the night in an Israeli kibbutz. It was located very close to the border where enemy raids were frequent - and often deadly. I had thoughts that we might be in danger.

So what did I do? I said of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress. I trust Him with my life." Then I turned over and went to sleep.

You can do the same thing. You meditate on this verse long enough and speak it out often enough and you'll be able to go right to sleep wherever you are. You can sleep by faith!
