I remember one time, when I was 13, I went to a tent meeting with some people from church. When we got there, we went into this huge tent. And I mean it was a HUGE tent! Inside there was a sawdust floor and what seemed like thousands of chairs everywhere. We had gotten there a little late, so we had to sit close to the back.

As I stood on a chair just to see what was going on, I noticed that there was a ramp going up and a ramp coming down each side of the platform where this man was ministering. I also noticed there were wheel chairs, beds, and crutches that were just thrown over in an area in the corner of the tent.

I thought to myself, "They must be selling those things or something." Little did I know that the preacher's name was Oral Roberts.

All of a sudden, I saw a person in a wheel chair being pushed up the ramp. His body was shriveled and shaking, and he probably only weighed about 99 pounds. I could tell he used to be a big man. (My dad died of multiple sclerosis, so I knew what the eating away of the muscles looked like.)

Oral Roberts looked at him and said, "In the name of Jesus, I command this disease to leave this body. Stand up!" And right in front of my eyes, a man who was about six feet, two inches, and only 99 pounds, shook with some kind of a paralytic disease, got up out of the wheel chair and took a small step.

Now, this is about the time my eyes bugged out of my head. I was only 13 years old and saw a man stand up out of a wheelchair! And when he stood up, he screamed a blood curdling scream that caused my mom's wig to jump ten feet straight up into the air!

And at the same time he screamed, I screamed too! (I guess I thought that was what you were supposed to do when you saw a miracle!)

The guy took off RUNNING down the stage, then ran down the aisle, and then he ran all the way to the back where I was standing on the chair with my mouth hanging wide open. Then he turned around and ran all the way back up on the stage and began to share his testimony.

I'm telling you, the power of God is real. It's alive! Do you want to see the power of God operate in your life? Then you've got to get in position. That very minute, that very hour, that very day in that tent, changed my life!

Do you know what I said right then at 13 years of age? I said, I want some of that! I said, "Lord, I've seen it. I like it. I want it!" Two years later, God called me into the ministry, and I have now been in full time ministry for over 27 years.

I BELIEVE in the power of God! And that's the TRUTH!
