And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
(Mark 4:38)
Jesus was sleeping because He could say, "Ah, that storm is just the devil. That's not worth getting up for. Maybe one of the disciples will calm it down." No wonder He exclaimed, "Why don't you have any trust? You are afraid of the devil!" He expected somebody to get up in the boat and say, "The Word of God came unto Jesus, and Jesus told us to go to the other side. Now, storm, be still! We're doing what the Word says!"

I recently was flying from Dallas to Austin with my son-in-law so that I could preach another service. The weather was bad when we got up in the air, and it was bad in Austin. We hit some turbulence, and I turned to him and said, "Do you have your seatbelt on?" He put his seatbelt on, and we kept bouncing around. I said, "Shut up, devil. We are going where we are supposed to go." We sat back and enjoyed the roller coaster ride until the turbulence stopped and we were able to land. By the time we returned to Dallas, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Satan knew that I had an assignment from God, but so did I! I knew that I could complete any assignment God gave me regardless of a circumstance!

Prayer for Today
Father, your ways are past finding out! You are a wonderful, powerful, almighty God! You are an everlasting God, who holds all my ways in your loving hand. In Jesus' name, Amen.
