grandparents"With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation." (Psalm 91:16)

How long do you plan to live? How many more years do you have left to serve God? Reach people for Christ? Pour into your kids? Grandkids? Impact this world?

Today, I want to encourage you - get a vision for long life! Don't let the enemy talk you into being old, weak, tired or weary before your time. Take hold of God's Word and His promises for long life. Be a doer of the Word and qualify for God's highest and best. According to God's Word, we can believe Him for a long life – at least 70 years – or 80! Here are a few Scripture passages to meditate on. These give us hope and faith for our future.

70 or 80 Years:
"The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty, if we have the strength..." (Psalm 90:10)

Until You're Satisfied
:
"With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation." (Psalm 91:16)

Prolong Your Life
:
"My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity." (Prov. 3:1-2)

Live Long
:
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with promise: 'that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.'" (Eph. 6:1-3)

Long Life
:
"She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor." (Prov. 3:15-16)

Add Length to Life
:
"The fear of the LORD adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short." (Prov. 10:27)

Years Will Be Many
:
"Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor. Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many." (Prov. 4:7-10)

Enjoy Long Life
:
"...fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all His decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life." (Deut. 6:2)

Bear Fruit in Old Age
:
"Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing...." (Psalm 92:13-14)

We realize that sometimes, for reasons we don't always understand – people sometimes die before their time. We don't always understand the "whys" of those things, but we can thank God that no matter what – as a Christian – we win. To depart from this life means we get to be with the Lord! Be encouraged to live a long fruitful life, knowing that when our time expires, we get to be with Jesus for eternity!

Say This: "Father, I want to live a long life and honor You. I thank You that You will satisfy me with a long life. I ask You to strengthen me in my spirit, soul and body. Help me to live a life filled with wisdom and obedience to Your Word – so that I may bear all kinds of fruit in old age and remain fresh and flourishing! In Jesus' Name. Amen."
