"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives."
(Luke 4:18)

I remember the day when the Lord came upon me in a powerful way when I yielded to Him to be a vessel of praise and worship. A ball of fire hit me in the stomach and began to permeate throughout my body.

Since that time, whenever I sing there has been an anointing to heal, deliver, refresh, and set the oppressed free. It is definitely a work of the Holy Spirit. I certainly cannot muster up an anointing, much less heal anybody.

Shortly after I first shared that experience in our Agape Newsletter, Buddy and Pat Harrison were at our church for a Holy Spirit Seminar. On the last night of the meeting, they called Happy and me and some of our associates up to minister to us by the Spirit.

We were all blessed by what the Holy Spirit had to say to each of us. I was tremendously blessed because what the Lord said through Buddy lined up so beautifully with what I had written in the newsletter.

I would like to share this Word with you. This is not intended to draw attention to me at all but to the anointing that God has placed on me when I minister in song. You could be the recipient of that anointing.
Burn, burn, burn, for as you begin to sing, yes, it will begin to burn. Yes, as you begin to sing it will burn inside you and you will be able to see it full and clear, because that will help the flow of anointing and it will draw it near. For that will be the worship and the praise that will cause the blessing to come.

But you will have your part to play and yes, the works of the enemy will be undone. For even as you have watched the birds in the backyard and seen the different colors in array, so you're going to see the move of the Holy Spirit the same way. Colorful, delightful, every size, every style, and every sound, and all of it is going to be in fullness and abound. So you'll see the Holy Spirit moving in His new dimension in this way, so get prepared for it because it will move on you and on your whole family and it will stay.
After the services, Buddy told me what he saw as he was giving me that word. He said, "There were bright colored lights, like the birds you watch, coming out of you and surrounding you. It was like flashes of it went out towards the people, and when they would receive it, the colors went into them."

Incidentally, I am a bird lover. I have bird feeders, birdhouses, bird books, and a bird water fountain in my back yard. I watch them from my kitchen window after I feed them, often with binoculars if I want a closer look. I could not begin to tell you all the species of birds I see every day—every color in the rainbow.

Covenant Colors
I was so excited about the word from the Lord regarding the colors that I began to meditate on it with my Bible. I started thinking, "When God spoke this earth into existence, it came with color. The grass and the trees are green; the fruit trees yield all kinds and colors of fruit; flowers and birds are a bouquet of color; the sky is blue"—it goes on and on.

Then I thought about the rainbow that is so absolutely beautiful with its arch of colors to thrill all our hearts. I looked in the Old Testament in Genesis 9:13 and read that God first placed the rainbow in the clouds as a covenant with Noah that He would never again cover the earth with water.

Then I thought about the rainbow that is in the New Testament in Revelation 4:3,5a. John described God sitting on His throne, and it was breathtaking. And He that sat was to look upon like a jasper (diamond) and a sardine stone (red): and there was a rainbow around about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald (green).

And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices. I believe the rainbow around the throne could be symbolic of God's covenant with Jesus Christ as head of the Church. Through this new covenant, we have available to us salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, love, joy, and peace.

I continued my search on rainbows and found Ezekiel 1:28. Ezekiel talks about the throne of God and the rainbow around it. He says the colors in the rainbow are the likeness of the glory of God.

As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

The Light Of Men
Every time the Bible talks about the glory of God, there is always radiant, brilliant light. The glory is sometimes seen as a cloud, as fire, a bright light, or a rainbow. It is a special manifestation of His divine power and glory—the Shekinah glory of God.

I may be presumptuous and I could be wrong, but I believe what Buddy saw when he was giving me that word from the Lord was the Shekinah glory of the Lord flowing out to heal, deliver, and set His people free.

I know that I don't have any power to heal, but He does, and I am willing to give myself to Him to be used for His glory.
