Did Jesus do the miracles in the Bible because He was God's Son?

No! Jesus stripped Himself of the power that came from His deity before He was born into the body of a man.
Who (Jesus) although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained; But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity] so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.
(Phil. 2:6-7 AMP)
According to other Scriptures, Jesus did all miracles with the help of the Holy Spirit. Notice the following verses:

The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ - He is Lord of all - that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
(Acts 10:36-38 NKJV)
Jesus healed by the Holy Spirit's power. God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit. This is important for us to recognize. This knowledge enables us to understand how we can do the same works that Jesus did.

You see Jesus clearly stated that, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father" (John 14:12 KJV).

God wants to anoint us with the Holy Spirit in order for us to set people free just like Jesus did.
