But before we can even think about what Jesus would do in a situation, we need to know "What Jesus Did Do!" We need to have a clear understanding of the meaning of the Cross and the purpose for which Jesus left the Holy Spirit with us when He went back to the Father.
A New Covenant
The Scriptures tell us that God has given us what we need to live in the fullness of the Spirit. He made a new covenant with us, but we have to abide in that covenant. Look at Hebrews 8 in the Amplified Bible:
For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would have been no room for another one or an attempt to institute another one.God prophesied what He would do for us through Jesus in Ezekiel and Jeremiah. Again we see reference to the cleansing water of the Holy Spirit and of the indwelling of His Spirit in us:
However, He finds fault with them [showing its inadequacy] when He says, Behold, the days will come, says the Lord, when I will make and ratify a new covenant or agreement with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
It will not be like the covenant that I made with their forefathers on the day when I grasped them by the hand to help and relieve them and to lead them out from the land of Egypt, for they did not abide in My agreement with them, and so I withdrew My favor and disregarded them, says the Lord.
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon thoughts, and we can live with an established heart unto God.

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and from all your idols will I cleanse you, A new heart will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances, and do them.

But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel: After those days, says the Lord, I will put My law within them, and on their hearts will I write it; and I will be their god, and they will be My people.He is saying that as we operate in this new covenant, He will give us a new heart, and His Spirit will indwell us, causing us to walk in the truth of the Word and do it. He will be our God, and we will be His people.
And they will no more teach each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, Know the Lord for they will all know Me—recognize, understand, and be acquainted with Me—from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will [seriously] remember their sin no more.

Created In His Image
God created us in His image for a purpose. He said:
Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.God created man in his image so that He could relate to man, and man could relate to Him. The very first purpose for creating man was for us fellowship with Him. Therefore, we had to be created in His image so that we could relate and fellowship with Him—spirit to Spirit. After all, animals can't relate to or fellowship with God because they don't have a spirit. Man does, and that is what makes us like God.

God is a Spirit (a Spiritual Being) and those who worship Him Must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).The Holy Spirit brings that truth to us in revelation and understanding, and when we have understanding, we can operate in the wisdom of that knowledge which comes through the Holy Spirit.
