Most children are just frustrated with life. They say, "Life's a bum deal, and I've been dealt a bum hand." But that's a lie of the devil. The world is always trying to paint that idea into our children's minds.
Over the years, most of the family counseling problems I have dealt with involved the kids. These days so many children have no idea why they are here or where they are going, and they seem bored and frustrated with life.

These children are a classic example of the life described in Psalm 1, verse 1. This Scripture says:
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Not only are today's children not walking with God, but they are walking in the counsel of the ungodly; in other words, following the advice and plans of the ungodly.

After a while, they will begin standing in the way of sinners, meaning they will be hanging around sinners and submitting to their lead. Then after that, they will sit down in the seat of the scornful, resting and relaxing in a life of sin, complaining about everything and everybody.

As Jesus said, Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh (Matt. 12:34). After listening to a person for only five minutes, I will feel that I know him, because that which is in his heart will come out his mouth.

Most children are just frustrated with life. They say, "Life's a bum deal, and I've been dealt a bum hand." But that's a lie of the devil. The world is always trying to paint that idea into our children's minds. To them the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Walking in Wisdom
Wisdom has several attributes, but let me just hit the high points for you. Let's look first in Proverbs 3:
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
(Prov. 3:13-15)
Then according to verse 16, if we are walking in wisdom, the benefits are excellent. It says: "Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour."

With wisdom, three benefits will come to us while we are here on this earth:

1) We will live a long life.

2) We will have honor.

3) We will have wealth and riches.

Without wisdom, we will never have these three.

According to Proverbs 9:10, we can't have wisdom unless we have the fear of God. This verse says, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom….

Wisdom For Our Children
If our children have no fear of God, they will have no wisdom, and they need wisdom to experience long life or honor or wealth and riches; as a result, they will struggle throughout this life.

We can do lots of good things for our children: We can send them to the best school, buy them the most expensive tennis shoes and sign them up to play on the best little league baseball team. But their lives will still be miserable if they have no wisdom.

Every person is born with certain gifts and talents, which are given out at the moment of conception. As Scripture says, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance (Rom. 11:29). Your gift will make room for you; it can even make money for you. But if you have no wisdom, your life will be miserable; and true wisdom comes from the Word of God.

So, Jesus increased in wisdom; in other words, He had vision. This modern word, vision, is a good one. So Scripture says: "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Prov. 29:18).

We must encourage our kids to fear God and obtain godly wisdom, for that is how they will overcome any and all obstacles.
