The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
(Prov. 18:21)

Words have an intense effect on our lives. Many Christians think words just communicate information, but words are far more powerful than that. They actually serve as containers for spiritual power.

According to today's verse, they have the ability to carry the power of life or death.

People sometimes speak empty words, but God never does. Every word He has ever spoken has been filled with faith, power and life. In fact, God's Word actually contains within it the power to do exactly what it says it will do (Isa. 55:11).

Every word God has ever spoken is backed by His faith and is as full of power today as it was the moment He said it. So when you believe something He has said by faith, the Holy Spirit goes into action, and that Word explodes into this natural realm and becomes a reality in your life!

That's what happened when you made Jesus your Lord. You heard or read Romans 10:9—"That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

You believed that word, spoke it in faith, and the power of the Holy Spirit was released, transforming your dead, fallen spirit into a reborn spirit, re-created in the image of Jesus Himself.

If His Word can save you, it can accomplish everything else you need: healing, finances, spiritual growth, a job, restored friendships, a new car, better grades, courage...

...Whatever it is you need, you can speak His promises in faith. Then, as spiritual containers, they will begin to go to work—and eventually show up right before your eyes.

Yes, you have the power to makes changes in your life, by speaking, because your words contain power.

So get started. Speak God's Word. Speak out His promises. Speak words of life and power. Things will never be the same!
