God is sending revival, restoration and refreshing! We are seeing it more and more. It's not just so we can get up, take a deep breath and say, "Oh that feels good," and go right back into our same lifestyle. No, this revival is here for a purpose. It is God's way of delivering you and me from "self."

You can't experience true revival and still be self-centered. If after all the laughter, running, leaping and even the crying and weeping has come and gone and you haven't been set free from self, then you didn't experience God's best for that refreshing. This is a time for fine tuning!

Remember when you first met Jesus and He changed your life and your first thoughts were, "What can I do for Him? How can I serve Him? Where can I go? Who can I talk to?" When was the last time you felt like that when you got up in the morning? Or do you spend your mornings getting up saying, "Oh God, we need...I'm believing for...Can I have?"

It's time to get back to the place where our desire is simply to serve God. We've become a "self" motivated people. We don't want to extend ourselves too much. We're not willing to make the same kind of sacrifices we used to be willing to make. But that's what revival is all about. God is sending this refreshing so you can be delivered from self and you can say, "Here I am, Lord, send me!"

Psalm 110 (AMP) says, "Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of your power." The NAS says, "Thy people will volunteer freely in the day of thy power." They'll volunteer. They won't ask, "What's in it for me? What do I get out of this?" No, they'll be willing. Their only question "What do You want me to do and where You want me to go?"

Get Started
As we begin to experience revival, then God is expecting us to respond speedily to His service. Revival is not to create a comfort zone, it is to give you new life so you can go to work. These are the days when the church is going to rise up with great power and march into Satan's camp and take back what he has stolen. If this revival doesn't stir you up and motivate you to busy for God like never before, then you're missing out on the very purpose for it.

How do you obtain this deliverance from self and a new desire to serve God? It can't come with you running 90 to nothing never giving God any time. You need a fresh infusion of the Holy Ghost.

The Bible says in James 4:8, "Draw nigh unto Him and He will draw nigh unto you." The Amplified says, "Get close to Him and He will get close to you." The implication here is more than me just seeking God and Him standing in one spot.

As I get closer to Him, He walks close me. But if I stop, He stops. I can be as close to God as I want to be. I can stop in the middle, get distracted and God will stand where I left Him. As soon as I get through with all the distractions, we can take up where we left off.

Stay Full Of The Holy Ghost
There may be some individual whom you respect and admire and would like to get to know. If they called you in the middle of the night and said, "Listen, I'd like to visit with you. Can you get here as soon as possible?" If you really wanted to be close to that person, you'd drive any length, change plans and make sacrifices. Well, God is desiring to be close to you.

These are the days of revival and it's time for us to get closer to God than ever before. We should rise each morning with a craving to be closer to God. Second Chronicles 15:2 (AMP) says, "The Lord is with you while you are with Him - if you seek Him inquiring for and of Him, craving Him as your soul's first necessity."

Instead of waking up in the morning and saying, "I've got to have that first cup of coffee." It says, "Crave Him." "Well, I can't function until I've had a shower." No, crave Him as your soul's first necessity.

Get up in the morning and the first thing you do when you open your eyes is praise and worship the Lord. If you like coffee, it will make that coffee taste even better. It will cause you to sing better in the shower! Put Him first.

"...He will be found by you, but if you become indifferent and forsake Him, He will forsake you." In other words, you stop taking steps towards Him, He'll stop taking steps toward you. You can be as close to God as you want to be.

God is giving this fresh infusion to those who are hungry for it. For those who seek it, and crave it, He will liberate you, renew your zeal, restore your hope and fill you with joy like never before. It's a time of refreshing, but it's also a time for equipping the people of God with a proper attitude and a proper perspective about the kind of life that God wants us to live before Him. God is raising up a selfless people who will delight in worshipping Him. God is wanting to "fine tune" our lives!

What did Jesus say in John 4:23? "A time will come however in deed it is already here when the true genuine worshippers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth (reality) for the father is seeking just such people as these as His worshippers." God is seeking people who are intensely, excessively devoted to Him. In other words, fanatics!

This is where deliverance from self comes in - be submissive. When revival and refreshing comes, suddenly nothing else means anything to you. I would not be able to tell you these things right now if I had not submitted. I could not be experiencing the greatest freedom I've ever known in my life if I hadn't submitted.

Psalm 95:6-8 in the Amplified says, "Oh come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker (in reverent praise and supplication). For he is our God and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts..."

I want to encourage you right now to give God your intense devotion. Don't resist any longer. Let God deliver you from what controls your soul and remove all that hinders you. Let Him "fine tune" your life right now. You'll experience the greatest freedom from self you've ever known in your life.

Allow this new hunger and craving for God to become your soul's first necessity! It is a better way.
