In a world of too many so-called truths, teens are becoming confused with the Truth.

Jesus said in Mark 4:24, "Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of trust, thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you."

Paul wrote in Galatians 6:7, "Be not deceived. God will not be mocked. For what a man sows that shall he also reap."

Whatever you believe is what produces your attitude. And your attitude is what produces your behavior. And your behavior is what produces the results of your life.

So the question is: What do you believe? And are you willing to live with the consequences of that belief?

Paul also wrote in Romans 1:25-27, "Because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, they have fallen to the degrading power of sin."

Then in verse twenty-seven he says, "And the men also turned from natural relations with women and were set ablaze with lust for one another - men committing shameful acts with men and suffering in their own bodies and personalities the inevitable consequences and penalty of their wrong actions."

If we would think longer on the results our beliefs bring to our lives, I believe we would be a little more particular about what we believe. If you believe that sin is OK, then you must also be willing to accept the consequences of that belief.

If you believe that stealing is OK, then don't get upset when you get arrested for stealing.

Do you get my drift?

That's why Jesus said to be careful in the truth you believe because good or bad it will produce consequences.

That's why Jesus made this "I'm gonna change the rules" statement when in John 14:6 He said, "I am the truth."

According to Webster's dictionary, truth is defined "the highest form of reality."

That means it can't get any better than Jesus!

Jesus also said "if you continue in My Word, you are definitely My disciples, and you shall know the Truth and the Truth will set you free."

In a recent poll it was discovered that the top 5 most trusted and "believed-in" group among teenagers were:

#1 Priest/Minister/Rabbi/Youth Pastors 51%
#2 Parents 51%
#3 Doctors 42%
#4 Friends 28%
#5 Teachers 26%

Everyone needs someone to believe in. And everyone needs something to believe.

The question is, Is it worth believing? C.S. Lewis said. "There are two ways to be fooled. One is by believing what isn't so or refusing to believe what is!"

Try the real Truth. See if it doesn't just fit the way you acted. The consequence is enormous. Eternal blessings there as well as earthly blessings here!
