I was recently in a church service where people were shouting about the greatness of God during the praise and worship service. Does the Bible advocate this type of behavior in a worship service?

Most of us are accustomed to being reserved in our worship service. This type of worship is good and biblical. However, the Bible does indicate other methods of worshipping God that are acceptable and biblical. Worshipping God with shouts of praise is one biblically acceptable way.

Let's look at some biblical texts to support this belief.
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
(Ps. 5:11 KJV)

Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
(Ps. 32:11 KJV)

O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
(Ps. 47:1 KJV)
It is proper and acceptable before God for us to be so excited about Him that we actually shout for joy as we declare His greatness.

We seem to have no problem acting this way when cheering on our favorite team or sports heroes. If we can give earthly beings this type of praise, then why not give it to God? God will never leave us nor forsake us.

He is always there for us and is able to meet our every need. This is one reason to shout unto God with a voice of triumph!
